After a lot of hard work by many volunteers, the Strathearn Community Garden is ready for planting. Sixteen raised beds filled with nutrient-rich soil are now in place at the north end of the hockey rink. The compost bin is ready to go and the tool shed arrived on June 18. This marks the completion of phase one of the project.
What the garden needs now is donations of hand tools that will be shared by all growers. Small trowels, water cans and snips are needed. If you have tools you’d like to donate, please contact Leah (leah.poet@yahoo.ca or 780-965-6067).
