After a two season hiatus, the Strathearn Ice Rink beside the new hall is scheduled to open for family skating on January 1, at our Hayrides & Hot Chocolates event!

The rink will open unless equipment problems or warm weather prevent us from doing so.

The rink was closed in 2016 to allow for hall construction. Utilities serving the hall now run directly under the rink, including our new gas, water, and sewer lines. Warm weather prevented us from opening the rink sooner this year, but we took advantage of colder weather in late December to finish the base layer of ice. Problems with water flow were resolved in mid December.

The new hall has two water hookups: a 1.5” line allowing us to flood with cold water, and a 0.75” line allowing us to resurface with hot water.

Inside the hall, the skate change room and washrooms both have skate flooring.

Hours for family skate, learn to skate programs, and other ice times will be posted at a later date.
